Run Android on computer : VirtualBox

How to run Android on computer .

We all are used to android . more or less it has become an important part of our daily life . Well i don't see any reason  for running android on computer unless you don't  have an android device . But you can have your own reasons for doing it . So one cool and easy way to do this is using VirtualBox .

WHAT IS VIRTUALBOX ?

As it sounds it is a virtualization machine that runs an operation system just from its .iso file . It is available for  Linux, Mac OS X, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 . You can download the .iso file of operating system from internet .

STEP BY STEP .

1. Download and install VirtualBox on windows or Mac or Linux whatever you are using .

To download fro Linux - CLICK HERE

2. Download android ISO file all versions work great but i will recommend latest one that is KitKat Android 4.4 . Downlaod Android KitKat.iso

3.Run VirtualBox and click on new .

4.In the next window add the following details as in screen shot .

5.Click next , in next step you have to select the RAM the android will be using default is 256mb but you can increase fro better performance .

6.Next you have to create a virtual hard-disk fro the OS to be installed unless you want to install it on separate hard drive select "Create a virtual hard drive now " it will create a virtual hard drive within your windows drive without affecting files .

7.In next step select "Virtualbox disk image ".

8.In next step select you have to select the size og disk space the OS will be using fro that either "dynamically allotted " or "Fixed size " depending on your requirement .

8.If you select Fixed size you will be asked the size  so just scroll the pointer and select 4gb 8gb as per your need . And hit create .

9. Half of the job is done now, you have to install the KitKat . In VirtualBox home window you will see on the left hand side  KitKat is written or in case you used any other name for it select it and click on START .

10. Next you have to select or browse the the ISO file of Android 4.4 KitKat you downloaded above . Click on the folder button on the "Select start-up Disk " window and go to location where the iso is saved and select it.

11. In next step select Installation - install Android x86 on hard disk with you keyboard UP and DOWN keys and hit enter to select .

12.In next step select Create / modify partition option .

12.In next step move to NEW option with keyboard and hit enter . Select PRIMARY and hit enter .

13. Then you have to make it boo-table so move to BOO-TABLE option in same window and hit enter once and then hit WRITE . It will ask for your conformation just type 'yes' and hit enter .

14.Then in partition option there will be added another option "sda1 Linux " select that and hit enter .

15. Then in next three steps you have to select YES and installation will start it will not take more than 2 minutes . After its done your android is installed you just have to restart it .

Your done you have you android installed in case it ask for installation on every time you boot up go to Machine < Settings < System in Boot order select Hardisk and unmark all the other options . And start you android again . select first option and it will boot to your android in few seconds set-up the details enter your email id and select date and time and then you can install apps from Playstore .

Note - There are some icons in right bottom corner these icons indicate the connectivity of  mouse , keyboard and network . Hover your pointer over them to know the status .

Note- In VirtualBox window there is an option to to take screenshot , it actually means a system restore point for your installed OS in  case anything goes wrong you can go back to these settings any-time . So i will recommend take screenshots often when your OS is running fine .

Thats it ! In any problem please comment i will follow .
